Can you get rust stains off of Corellle dinnerware?

I had a pan up against a Corelle bowl in my dish washer. Where the pan got wet, it created rust and then went onto the bottom of the bowl. I’ve tried everything to get it off with no luck. It’s almost like it’s burned in there! Any suggestions?

Hmmmm… well, no guarantees that this won’t damage the surface of your Corelle, because I don’t have any and have never tried this on a surface like that. But there are two things that I use to remove rust stains from various surfaces, such as countertops, porcelain fixtures, enamel, etc.

The first is #0000 steel wool. It’s very fine and more of a polisher than an abrasive. Sometimes this will take out minor rust stains.

For tougher stains, I use Barkeeper’s Friend. It is a powdered cleanser in a can, and contains oxalic acid which works great on rust. I’ve used it to clean many different surfaces and it is amazing stuff! http://barkeepersfriend.com/Cleaning.html

Scrub it with some comet or ajax!

wet the dish, sprinkle a bit of dry baking soda and rub the spot clean.
then rinse with vinegar and water.
    good luck

spray with tilex or muriatic acid
